Physiotherapy at Shifa Kliniek

Physiotherapy starts with understanding what is going on. From there we use exercise therapy and explanation to work towards what you want back: doing your job, playing your sport, or simply getting through a day without thinking about your complaint.

What physiotherapy looks like here

Physiotherapy is more than loosening what feels stuck. We map out how much you can handle, where the limit sits and how to move that limit safely. Exercise therapy is the main tool; manual techniques and massage are added when they help you progress.

  • Assessment of movement, strength and load tolerance
  • A clear explanation of your complaint and what to expect
  • Exercise therapy that grows with your recovery
  • Advice on load at work, at home and in your sport

What a course of treatment looks like

  1. 1

    Intake and assessment

We discuss your complaint and your goal, and examine how you move and how much you can handle.

  2. 2

    Plan and explanation

You hear what we see, what it means and which approach fits. Together we set the goals.

  3. 3

    Treat and build up

You get to work with exercises in the practice and at home, with guidance and adjustments along the way.

  4. 4

    Back to your activity

We taper off once your goals are within reach and agree how you continue on your own.

Frequently asked questions

Is physiotherapy the same as massage?

No. Massage can be part of a session, but physiotherapy is about assessment, explanation and building load tolerance. Exercise therapy is the main tool.

Do I have to do exercises at home?

Usually yes. What you do between appointments largely determines your progress. We keep the exercises short and practical so they fit into your day.

Does physiotherapy hurt?

Working within an acceptable level of discomfort is part of it, but we never push through severe pain. You tell us what is bearable and we adjust the load accordingly.

Curious what's possible for your complaint?

Book an intake or ask a question first. We're glad to think along.
